Venue: NAIT's PRODUCTIVITY AND INNOVATION CENTRE
Productivity and Innovation Centre (PIC) address is: 10210 Princess Elizabeth Avenue Edmonton, AB T5G 0Y2
The Productivity and Innovation Centre will be the place industry comes for solutions and to succeed. It will focus on three of NAIT’s core strengths: productivity enhancement; applied research; and an accelerator focused on advanced prototyping and manufacturing.
Funding from the Government of Canada has made this project possible.
Building on our established strengths and our deep relationship with industry, the Productivity and Innovation Centre will be transformative for our city, province and country.
What you'll find in the Productivity and Innovation Centre
At approximately 17,650 square metres (190,000 square feet), this purpose built space will include state-of-the-art manufacturing labs, acceleration and incubation space for small and medium-sized businesses and applied research space. The space will be highly flexible to evolve to meet the emerging needs of industry.
The Centre will provide the necessary space to build capacity in 3 related areas critical to industry:
Productivity Enhancement – The Productivity and Innovation Centre will be the new home for NAIT’s Productivity Enhancement Services , allowing it to double in capacity to help more industry partners improve productivity, refine and improve manufacturing processes, and promote technology adoption.
Acceleration– Building on our experience with helping individuals, companies and industry to develop products or processes needed to grow businesses, the Centre will offer a range of acceleration services, including early stage prototyping, product validation and adoption into the manufacturing process.
Applied Research – NAIT has a number of very effective Applied Research Centres that are focused on solving challenges faced by industry. PIC will be the new home for the Centre for Oil Sands Sustainability and the Centre for Sensors and System Integration and will provide the additional space needed to create new applied research centres to meet emerging and new needs.
Edmonton is a vibrant city of over one million people.
